Business Continuity Planning

Once simply referred to as disaster recovery planning, the process has now evolved into business continuity management. It consists of three core elements – Crisis Management (Response), Technology Recovery and Business Resumption. The organization size does not matter – you may find yourself “bound” by the now generally accepted practices.

Whether an organization is beginning the process of developing a business continuity plan or has a mature plan, they need to familiarize themselves with the business continuity management standards that now exist.

There is a ton of information available today to assist you in your business continuity planning efforts. The links provided here will get you on your way to either getting started or assist you in your plan evaluation. The Ready.gov site is ideal for small businesses. The “Open for Business” link is more suited to medium size businesses.
