What the best wireless service plan for somebody who use the phone only during an emergency?

I only used the phone once a while when there is an emergency, but I am not sure which plan is best for me.
If you could help, it would be great. Thanks in advanced?

buy one of those prepaid phones at wal-mart or target. that way you don’t have a monthly bill and you can buy new minutes as you need them.

If I needed a phone for emergencies only, I would just use a prepaid. That way there is no contract or monthly bill.

    Tracfone or net10

Tracfone’s minutes cost a little more than net10, but you have longer activation time before you have to buy more minutes to keep the phone active.

Net10’s minutes are cheaper, but you only get 30 days of activation time before you have to buy more minutes.

Virgin, T mobile, verizon and cingular all charge an extra dollar for everyday you use the phone, plus minutes used.

Also, if you have an old cell phone and don’t have any minutes, you can still dial 911 on most phones.
