and how would you prepare for it or respond to a natural disaster?
Fires and drought, especially in southern California. Fires will then be followed by mudslides in the rainy season.
For what to do. Here’s what the Dept of Homeland Security says:
* Make a kit
- Build an emergency supply kit by considering your family’s unique needs, like eye glasses and prescription medications
* Have a plan
- Create a family plan with a designated meeting place and consider simple steps that will protect your family until you can be with them
* Be informed
- Learn about the types of emergencies that could take place in your community, including where you live, where you work and where your children attend school
o Learn a first aid skill such as CPR, or study up on general first aid practices. Learn about first aid classes offered by your local Red Cross office
o Subscribe to alert services. Many communities now have systems that will send instant text alerts or e-mails to let you know about bad weather, road closings, local emergencies, etc. Learn what your community offers by visiting your local Office of Emergency Management web site.

I have some concerns about moving to Florida, because of all of the natural disasters that’s been going on lately..
Do you think Florida can be hit by a tsunami or a earthquake or any other major natural disasters?
I am aware of the hurricanes, but usually they give you a head-sup on those. I am talking about disaster that people can’t "predict" hitting a certain area 100% and that will just hit without no time of warning that could help people escape?!

yes, the have history of both earthquakes, hurricanes, tornadoes, and other natural disasters.
When it comes to unpredictable disaster these can basacly happend anywhere at anytime, because we can’t really control it.
Florida might be at a hight risk because of its location, but like i said there is no telling

I was just wondering what to be prepared for a natural disaster what would you need in your survival kit?
Okay, the following is a good list for any emergency survival kit in case of natural (or otherwise) disaster.
Basic Survival needs: nonperishable food (cans work best, dried food, the like), clean water supply or the means to make it clean, blankets, flashlight, batteries, bandages, disinfectant, gauze, cold packs, portable heat source (if using fire fuel, don’t forget a fire starter and a safe way to contain it, coffee cans work well), pain reliever, burn cream, other first aid as needed.
Miscellaneous: radio, signal (such as a flare), scissors and/or knife, GPS locator (optional, they sell these for skiers), and also helpful, a handgun and ammunition (sounds extreme, but when times get difficult, looting is rampant and you need to be able to protect your family and your resources, so keep one in the kit, and learn how to use it).
That’s a complete kit. Keep it in a convenient location so you can retrieve it quickly when needed.
I’ve always been fascinated with the weather and I’m curious as to which natural disaster intrigues you. The ones that intrigues me the most are tornados – just something about them has always left me in awe.
electrical storms, ever seen one? nature at its finest, i was here in Buffalo, nY for the October surprise last year, thunder/wind/sleet/everything storm, took us weeks to recoup, craziest thing i’ve ever seen, and we get tons of storms here

how are inmates kept safe when something like this happens? Does anyone care or just figure that if they did they crime this is their punishment?
Criminal or not, every human has the right to be safe.
So the question is this: what is state protocol during a natural disaster?
you have to read this site to understand why I asked the question
You can’t keep someone safe from some catastrophes. In a situation like that it is every man for himself. If he tries to take advantage of the situation, the nervous guards are likely to kill him.
Even under ideal conditions, prison is probably the least safe place you could be. By that logic nobody would ever get locked up.
