I don’t, but I think I should. Where I live tornadoes are common, floods have occured as well. After witnessing Huricane Katrina and the abundance of pets left behind, I want to know what should you have on hand in the event you need to evacuate an area with your cat(s)?

I live in earthquake/fire country and also started thinking about this after Katrina. My suggestion would be to have a "kit" ready for each of your pets. ( In CA we have earthquake kits for humans). Include food (dry is probably best as it has a longe use by date), water (at least 1 gallon per pet), maybe a couple toys and some first aid supplies. Many pet stores sell specialized cat/dog first aid kits. If you keep the kit with the carriers, you’ll always know right where it is in case of emergency.

You may also want to include copies of your pets vet records (or at least vaccination/medication records & the vets business card). You’ll want to check the kit every 3 or 6 months or so to make sure the food is OK and to make sure any new medical records are included.

If your cat(s) have not been microchipped already, I strongly recommend it! Collars can easily be lost and if you get seperated from your pet microchips are an inexpensive (and reliable) way to ensure you are reunited!

Can anyone give me ideas on why a company should develop a disaster recovery plan for their computer system (in terms of spyware, hacking, adware, virus, etc.)?

Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks!

Because if their system is destroyed by malware or hackers, then they need to be able to function without computers temporarily, be able to get them repaired/cleaned, know what to do and who to contact, and have a backup of all their important data.

House gets flooded to the rooftop, home is completely destroyed. Fema, and homeowners insurance is paying to rebuild… do homeowners stop paying mortgage?

The homeowners insurance pays off the mortgage, there will no longer be a payment and they will own the land the house sat on in full.

My brainstorming about the disaster has been as follows:

1 Fire
2. Flood
3. High wind
4. Earthquake
5. Computer crimes
6. Terroristic actions and sabotage

So I would like suggestions of what to do when the disaster happens: My suggestions has been as follows:
-We should recover from the backup
-Replace damaged materials( hardware, etc)
-Call the plice immediately in case of terroristic attack.

So I would like your suggestions and if possible more explainations. It is a school project I am working on.

First and foremost, you should only re-enter the facility when it is safe to do so. Both natural and man-made disasters can cripple a facility’s structural integrity, and leave hazards such as broken gas lines and chemical leaks.

If your company does not have an experienced IT department who can handle computer recovery, you will need to hire a company to do it. There are many out there. They properly clean the equipment and attempt to salvage data from it.

Each disaster type has its own unique problems. In a fire, you will be recovering burned remnants of your equipment. Computer crimes and terrorist actions are unique and would require the assistance of law-enforcement agencies. Other than that, as a business owner/operator/employee you are on your own. If it is a federally-declared disaster area, you may be elligible for monetary assistance for your losses.

IF you have a good team after this USA economic collapse you have a good chance to survive.

If you have a bug out bag and a theoretical plan to escape it may not be enough until you really think it through.

To be more sure of your plan I suggest practice of it! Actually put it to the test!

hey anyone can tell me where i can find a sample disaster recover plan for a bank? i go through the google but i ws unabel to find

It’s all going to be proprietary information. It’s also probably going to be darned big, depending on the type of disasters planned for. You’ll have to write one yourself, or hire it out.
