People mocked Mormons for having a years worth of food storage and staying out of debt.But we see now its a good thing. Maybe Obama should appoint Mormons to teach the rest of Americans how to be self reliant.

Ok but you have to realize Mormons have million dollar facilities dedicated to food storage. Im just saying maybe the gov can take a few notes.

We should prepare, taking lessons either from the "Mormons" or from our grandparents who survived the "Great Depression". As long as we learn to do better and be better….it does not matter so much who the lesson comes from………………….our own individual witness and struggle will aid us all.

I, personally, admire and respect a woman who fed a family of 14 on "nothing", and kept them all alive during the 30’s. Draw your strength wherever it comes from…………draw it and then implement those lessons. We will ALL need that encouragement.

The worst natural disaster was definitely in 2003.

I was walking home and a strong gust of wind blew my wallet away which had $237, i lost all my cards and identification.

You really should have taken both pills, if you don’t want to be pregnant. The pills are designed to be used in two parts, not one. Yes, the sperm can get into the tube and fertilize the egg, but Plan B stops the fertilized egg from implanting in the uterus, if you take it properly.

Yes – there is the International Rescue Corps. (Nothing to do with the puppet series and Film). We had a talk from two of their members last month at our club. They are all volunteers and trained at their own expense and in their own time – takes 12 months – no previous experience necessary – wouldn’t mind doing it myself but getting a bit long in the tooth!. They go abroad to earthquakes etc and have IR imaging to find bodies etc. Check out their website – sorry – not sure of its address/

I personally have a week-old backup of my hard drive so I would only lose a week’s worth of information (much of that is saved online) and some of it could not be recovered (but is of low importance). Restoring my Hard Drive would take a couple of hours (including putting in a new drive) but those lost files would never be restored.

I have two hard drives in Raid 0. So i expect one day in the next few years they will somehow lose my data.

I keep an old hard drive from my last pc in my main one and use windows 7 to automatically back up to it.

But its still got loads for old files on it as i wanted to keep all my old stuff. Its been full for ages so backups rarely ever happen. It contains a system image and alot of programs as backups so there shouldn’t be a huge disaster if i lose my main drives. But there will definitely be alot of stuff that never got backed up. That will take a while to fix. I couldnt really guess at how long as i have no idea what exactly is not backed up.

I live in boynton beach and i need to get a class 3 captive wildlife permit to continue to own my reptile, only im not sure how to get the information for most of the questions to where the FWC would accept it. If anyone could give me an example of what its suppose to look like that would be greatly appreciated

Easier if you list some of the specific questions you are having trouble with.

Critical incident/disaster plan would probably apply only to certain animals.

Someone at the FWC might be the first one to ask, and they might even have a booklet that goes along with the application.

Finish an associates at a community college in criminal justice or maybe something like technological sciences (to increase your scope) and then transfer to a 4- year that offers a bachelor’s degree in emergency management. I know of one 4-yr by me that offers the emergency mgnt. degree.

I am close to graduating this year. My undergraduate degree is in biomedical science. I really want to travel to disaster response zones and be part of the relief efforts (not in terms of finances). Which profession should I choose considering my marks are perfect and I have full motivation to take on any profession to meet this goal? I would really like to be NEEDED in those areas, I really don’t want to compete with other people with my profession who are also willing to go down there?

in a disaster situation there is NO competition, all are needed. Doctors, nurses, paramedics, infrastructure engineers, police, all are needed. Haven’t you been hearing about the disaster in Haiti? There is deperate need for all the professions and supplies. No one is competing with anyone, all are working toward the common goal of helping those beknighted people.
